Paddy
Paddy is a term used to refer to rice that is still in its unprocessed, natural state. It is also sometimes referred to as rough rice. Paddy is the harvested rice plant that still has its husk or outer layer intact.
Paddy is a staple food in many parts of the world, especially in Asia where it is a major source of carbohydrates. After the husk is removed, the rice can be further processed to produce white rice, brown rice, or other varieties of rice.
In addition to its use as a food source, paddy also has various other applications. The straw from the rice plant can be used for animal feed, as a building material, or for fuel. The husks can also be used as a fuel source, or for making fertilizer and insulation.
